Ashley Ringin

In 2007, Ash Ringin joined Dan Scott in swapping Ballarat for Anniesland in the Aussie winter.  A probing left arm quick who specialised in late movement, Ash was a handfull for any opposition he turned out against.

Ash took 17 wickets at an average of under 21 in his season with Accies in the SNCL, including three 3-fors.  The most important of these was his 3-18 against Edinburgh in Accies' only win of the season.  Ash also highlighted the difference between Scottish and Australian cricket by finishing high in the batting averages (20.75) with a determined 55* against the pace and swing of Waqas Ahmed his most impressive work.  He usually bats at number 11 back home.

The high-point of the summer for Ash was clinching victory in the Berwick sixes to end a long and grueling season with some silverware to take back Down-Under.

Among the life experiences Ash amassed in Glasgow were a stint (of about a week) working at Jellyhill and a longer spell working for Nige as a labourer.  He also participated entusiastically in stumpy... though if you're still reading this, Mrs. Ringin - don't worry! We looked after him really!

Ash has returned to Victoria to attend university and continue to develop as a cricketer.  We at Accies wish him every success.
