Match report

The picturesque setting of the Cricket Ground, Gatehouse of Fleet, on a sunny summer afternoon (probably the warmest of the year) was the location for a most enjoyable game of cricket, played in a competitive but good natured spirit throughout - just the way it should be! A big thank you to our hosts for a perfect cricketing day.
A loss, but it was good team performance - easily the best since the opening fixture of the season. Gatehouse were bowled out in exactly 50 overs - R Russell clean bowliing their number 11 with the very last delivery. A good advert for 50 over cricket.
In reply we were never really up with the run rate but we batted correctly and saw out the 50 overs - for the first time this season. Some of the veterans fondly reminisced about the good old days when this would have been a gritty draw. A good advert for 100 over cricket?
