Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

This match, washed out on 27 June, was finally played in glorious weather on 28 July at Titwood. Skipper Mark Forbes elected to bat but his team was unable to score runs from the bat against tidy bowling - a mere 32 with the balance from Mr Extras who always seems to be a major player for the Accies' youngsters. Only skipper Forbes managed double figures but lost his wicket in the process.

Conversely none of the 8 'Dale batsmen lost their wicket and it was hard work for the Accies' bowlers as the ball regularly disappeared over the rope including a 6 hit to one of the longer boundaries. 84 from the bat and 63 extras contributed to the 'Dale total of 147 for no wicket.

Perhaps it was the heat and an incredible number of invisible seagulls that distracted the fielders on the night plus in some cases a desire to have an unscheduled visit to the local Victoria Infirmary - the use of hands by certain fielders seemed unheard of. The lads can do a lot better than this and will have to against Ayr later this week i.e. 1st August!
