Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

Another fine win for a very young Accies team with no less than six of the team still eligible to play under 11 cricket. We remain unbeaten so far this season. With a few key players unavailable, due to school committments, this shows the strength in depth of the team, and we will be relying on this as the season continues. In what was an excellent all round performance, captain Zain Shaik led from the front with both bat and ball, making an unbeaten 24 (from 18 balls) and taking 3 wickets. A Verma scored an excellent an unbeaten 18 on debut and S Survarna, fresh from his wicket taking exploits for the mens 4X1 took 3 wickets for 18 runs.

Next week we have a tough away fixture against East Renfrewshire who are also unbeaten so far this season.

One area of improvement that I would like to see next week would be a reduction in the number of extras. Against Poloc we gave away 29 extras (13B, 12W and 4NB). In a close match this will be the difference between winning and losing. Lets continue to work on our bowling accuracy at nets on Sunday, and cut out giving away needless runs.

Special thanks to Auid for managing the team in my absence (work committments) and to all of the team for playing the game in the right manner.  Well done and lets keep it up!
