Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

Accies ran out comfortable winners in the Helensburgh sunshine. Gupta stared with bat (22 not out) and ball (2 for 3) and with useful contributions from Maheshwari (22) Ballingall (17 not out) and Paterson (18) the Accies posed a highly respectable total. The match was virtually over as a contest on the first ball of the Helensburgh reply when Western Warrors star batsman, Cailan Lang was caught on the leg side boundary by Paterson off the bowling of Anwar. This was all the more satisfying as this had been the plan discussed in the dressing room at the change of innings. One final mention for Alex Ballingall who had a debut to remember. He picked up a wicket with his first ball and retired not out on 17. Next week we travel south to play Clydesdale (2s).
