Match report

One week it seems to be wickets tumbling and most weeks wides that cause the team problems.  After a Sunday morning session concentrating on bowling accuracy the lads actually gave away some 20 runs less in wides than usual so that was a real plus point.  The corollary was however that within the first four overs of batting they had lost 6 wickets through injudicious shot selection and poor calling resulting in run outs.  In the remaining 16 overs the team only lost four further wickets and almost achieved an unlikely victory.  Mikal Rahim impressed on his debut with a controlled 14no with Messrs Aston, Russell and Hood also chipping in with decent not out scores.

In the first innings Renfrew worked their way to a respectable score mainly through Itisham, a hard hitting batsman, who contributed a quick 21.  Best bowling for Accies was Priyanshu Agarawal with 2 for 5 from his 2 overs.

The lads are improving and will soon win another match if they can just cut out the needless run outs.  Ayr at Cambusdoon is the next fixture and everyone will have to be on top form for this one - not helped by over half of the squad being unavailable due to a school trip to Abernethy.
