Match report

West had 6 players whilst Accies had 10!  Complicated maneouvres ensued as we gave them two fielders and one of the West pairs batted twice whilst we had to rotate our fielders so only 8 were on the field at any one time!  Finn Herbert took over the bowling planning after the first five overs and did very well in that respect.  He is a quietly confident young lad and managed his team well.

Sam Chadha took a stunning catch at slip [the fielding position that should not exist at U11 or most older age groups for that matter] and Ethan Duncanson-Ward performed a similar miracle at point.  This is a team full of surprises!  Aryman [Arman] Tyagi had a hard hitting innings that shook the West youngsters and the Herbert/Chadha pairing continues to be not out after two matches. Lewis Oliver again showed great control with his slow bowling whilst Hamza Irfan also picked up a couple of scalps.

The ground fielding generally was good with more than the usual number at this age being alert for backing up fielders' throws and the side worked well together.  An exciting win yet again in the last over by the small margin of 3 runs!

Overall I am very happy with the way this team is shaping up even with the use of my "player rotation" policy which means that even the "more experienced" players are not guaranteed a game every week.
