Match report

Again it was a very young Accies team that batted first against Greenock's excellent bowling attack and found runs very hard to come by.  Greenock found wickets rather easier to come by on the other hand.

Debutant John Collins acquitted himself well having never played hard ball cricket before but the "powerhouse" duo of MacAndie and Paterson, although scoring most of Accies' runs, also lost most wickets.

MacAndie must have felt that Friday, 13th was very unlucky.  He started with an ankle strain, suffered a thigh bruise whilst batting and then a bruise to each shoulder as he threw himself around in the field. To cap it all a bad bounce off the edge of the batting strip cost him a cut lip!  He was smiling at the end of the match though - full marks!

Such is the way of cricket - losing by a single run last week but by 105 runs this week! Greenock had two very capable batsmen who scored most of their team's runs with neither losing his wicket.  Accies will bounce back from this!
