Match report

This was the game that Accies wanted to win but it only took 5 overs for that dream to vanish into the grey skies!  Scoring at 8 per over, 41 runs were on the board before the lads could blink.  Too short, too wide, too full and 'Dale took full advantage.  At least it can be said that 'Dale managed only 70 from the remaining 15 overs but small consolation overall.  Having said that 111 to win was a possibility.

That possibility vanished just as briefly with the top three out for only 9 runs by the 5th over.  The 10th over was bad with two wickets falling but worse was to follow with a further three all falling in the 13th over - 33 for 9.  At least Tom Keeley with 12 not out and Fraser McDonald managed to bat properly [and sensibly] through the remaining 7 overs to deny 'Dale the comfort of bowling Accies out - well done you two!

Fielding on the whole was not too bad if you overlook a couple of dropped catches [one easy and one not so] but batsmen must work out how to dig their feet out of the concrete that seemed to have set on the creases.  It would also help the cause if some did not hit the ball straight to a fielder and call for a suicidal run.

There's a lot that needs to be worked on following this performance!
