Players' Meeting - Reminder and Nominations
Posted on Monday 24th August 2009 by Fraser Murray
Can everyone please note that the Committee has decided that all nominations for positions of Captains etc should be made before or at the players meeting on Wednesday 26th August at 7.30 in the top bar.
All nominations require a nominator, a seconder and the person nominated must accept the nomination. If this is done before the meeting then by email to briandundas@msn.com is fine. If the person being nominated can we have an email from them stating they are accepting the nomination.
All positions will still be finalised with a vote at the AGM.
Also there is a new role of Membership Convenor - this role will be responsible for ensuring new members are welcomed to the club with all the relevant information and then ensuring all subs/levies are paid.
Positions are:
- Chairman
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Junior Convenor
- 1st XI Captain
- 1st XI Vice Captain
- 2nd XI Captain
- 3rd XI Captain
- 4th XI Captain
- Sports Club Rep x 2
- Fixture Secretary
- Membership Convenor
Berwick 6s
Posted on Monday 17th August 2009 by Fraser Murray
The Berwick 6s 2009 will take place on Sunday 30th August 2009. Accies has enjoyed great success at this event; we were champions in 2007 and finished as runners-up last year.
The day in Berwick is always thoroughly enjoyable, offering thrill-a-minute cricket, cheap drinks and a festival atmosphere worthy of the end of the season. It is highly recommended to make the trip as a spectator to support the club.
Anyone interested in travelling down should contact Neil Dowers, who will attempt to coordinate transport. A responsible, over-23 volunteer to drive a minibus would also be much appreciated (you'll also need the minibus symbol on your license).

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Cricket Section will be held in the Clubhouse at New Anniesland on Friday 11th September 2009 at 6.30pm.
A summary agenda for the meeting is attached below and a detailed agenda is being compiled for circulation at the meeting.

Cricket Section Dinner 2009
The customary end of season Dinner (expected timing 7.30pm) will be held in the Clubhouse at New Anniesland immediately after the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting (6.30pm start).
Members able to attend should contact Brian Dundas, Iain MacKay, Farhaj Siddiqui, Jim McLaren, or Colin Dawson as quickly as possible to secure a place at this prestigious event.
Tickets are £25 per head (under 21/Students - £20). Please note that part of the ticket price is a donation to club funds.
It is vital that numbers attending are known by Monday 7th September (9.00pm) so that Ken Barron can make the appropriate arrangements. Please bring lots of spare cash for the excellent raffle that will be held during the course of the evening!
In view of the numerous last minute "call offs" last year, anyone booked for the Dinner as at 9.00pm on Monday 7 September will be charged the full price even if they do not appear. The Section still has to pay Ken Barron the numbers booked as at Monday night.
