Quiz Night Thanks
Posted on Saturday 24th January 2009 by Neil Dowers
The Accies quiz night successfully raised £700 that will be invested into running the section and the planned scheme to refurbish the club’s practice nets.
The evening saw a mixture of players, kids, friends and families enjoy food provided by the Village Curry House, the infamous post-Christmas raffle and a quiz that, judging by the waves of anguished and frustrated howls from various tables, succeeded in tormenting and sparking sluggish brains into action.
The quiz was won by 2XI stalwart Tommy Milne, ably helped by an entourage of family and friends, who will also no doubt just as ably help him to polish off the top prize of 6 bottles of wine and a load of chocolates.
The organisers would like to thank all those for turning up and helping to make what turned out to be a very enjoyable evening.
Please Note:
- The Race Night is taking place on Friday 27 March.
- The Cricket Section golf outing will be held at Vale of Leven Golf Club on Sunday 19th April 2009.

Winter Nets Reminder
Posted on Wednesday 21st January 2009 by Brian Dundas
This is a reminder to all senior members about the ongoing winter nets sessions at the Academy Sports hall on Sundays from 1045-1245.
- January 25th
- February 8th
- March 1st
- March 8th
- March 15th
- March 22nd
- March 29th
I'm pleased to here that numbers have been up since the New Year and a few new members have also come down to the sessions.
It makes for a good club atmosphere and is more appealing to any potential new talent - which we need to continue successfully running the four league sides - if as many current members as possible can make it.
So lets blow away the winter cobwebs before the weekly sessions start and show our support for next years captains and vice captains by getting home early on Saturday night and making it on Sunday morning.

REMINDER - Quiz Night on Friday 9th January
Posted on Wednesday 7th January 2009 by Fraser Murray
A reminder that the Annual Cricket Club Quiz Night takes place at the Clubhouse on Friday 9th January for which the fundraising committee have been working hard to put together another excellent night of entertainment.
Previously the turnout from active playing members has been disappointingly poor, so a better attendance is hoped for so we can kick-start our fundraising for 2009. All monies raised will go towards new practice net facilities and running costs for the section, so all members of the section will benefit from this event.
Hope to see you, and your friends/family/acquaintances on Friday, and please remember to bring your donations for the raffle, which will all be gratefully received.
Richard Andrew
1XI Vice-Captain
