Cricket coaching courses at Glasgow Academy

Posted on Monday 16th January 2012 by Fraser Murray

The Glasgow Academy is running coaching courses during the half term holidays in February for any young and enthusiastic cricketer. The courses will be organised and delivered by Mr Vedam Hariharan who is the cricket professional with the Academy during the summer, and a leading overseas coach in Australian and Indian Cricket Centres of Excellence.

The courses will take place at The Glasgow Academy. Several facilities will be used to provide the best possible environment for learning and developing cricket skills and knowledge. This will include the sports hall, which now offers four high quality net areas and the option of splitting into three large open working areas, a smaller gym which provides an ideal venue for more intense technical work in small groups and a large astro-turf area.

New Year Quiz Night

Posted on Monday 2nd January 2012 by Fraser Murray

The traditional Glasgow Accies New Year Quiz will take place on Friday 6th January at 7pm in the clubhouse.

Entry fee is £5 per person.

There will be the usual mix of questions, suitable for all ages and abilities.

There is no compulsory maximum team size, but we suggest six is about the limit for everyone to have a chance to contribute to the team.

Bread and home-made soup at half time. Donations to the raffle encouraged, as always the perfect place for those unwanted Christmas gifts.

You should also be made aware that GHK has plans to send a team. This makes it all the more important that you come and defend Accies' honour!
