New U11 members wanted for season 2016
Posted on Sunday 17th January 2016 by Colin Dawson
For the first time in all the years I have been junior convener at Accies we have an urgent need for new members aged 8,9 and 10 as at 1 September 2015. Please contact me, Colin Dawson [anyone including TGA pupils], or Mr Hariharan at the Glasgow Academy [TGA pupils only] if you have an interest in joining either our U10 Kwik Cricket [soft ball] or U11 league team [hardball] squads. Mr Hariharan will be back with us towards the middle of February.
We are currently running indoor training sessions in the Glasgow Academy Sports Hall on Sundays on the following dates between 12.45pm and 3.30pm -
Jan 24 and 31
Feb 7 and 28
Mar 6, 13 and 20
Sessions are a mixture of warm-ups, skills, nets and indoor games. Cricket is a wonderful team game, you meet other youngsters of your own and other ages, gets you away from your mobiles/computer games for a few hours and is aimed at being fun as well.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Fundraising Quiz - Friday 8th January
Posted on Thursday 7th January 2016 by Fraser Murray
The 14th Annual Glasgow Accies Cricket Club quiz night takes place tomorrow evening:
FRIDAY 8TH JANUARY 2016
Bring yourself, your partner, your mates and your family down to New Anniesland for the usual family-friendly nine rounds of questions, music and the near-legendary picture quiz.
Order of events: Doors and bar open 7pm, first question 7:30pm sharp!
Tickets: £5 per person, available on the night. We'd appreciate it if you can confirm attendance by emailing quiz@glasgowaccies.cc or joining the event on Facebook (external link) - this helps us plan the seating and catering accordingly!
Teams: A maximum of six please, or you open yourselves up to mocking, jeering and howls of derision from your fellow competitors if you get too many answers right!
Food: Half-time soup and bread included. Aldi had another fire sale on mince pies, so we'll be chucking one in too!
Raffle: All donations welcomed, even that dodgy toiletry gift set from your least favourite Auntie!
We hope you have a great festive period, and we look forward to seeing as many members as possible tomorrow, senior and junior! Meanwhile, we're off to finish writing the questions…
