FORTHCOMING EVENTS
Posted on Wednesday 28th July 2004 by Colin Dawson
Members of all ages please note that on Thursday 12th August the Club will field an Under 18 team against the Forty Club (Scotland) at New Anniesland with a 1pm start. Why not come out to support the lads? Anyone wishing to take part in this fixture should contact Colin Dawson unless he contacts you first.
On Saturday, 14th August it is intended to hold a barbeque at the Club after the various league matches are completed. Members, parents and friends of all sections are invited. Contact any of the team captains for further details. It is my understanding that there is a world glut of hamburgers that needs to be consumed on that evening!
SUMMER COACHING "WEEK"
Posted on Tuesday 20th July 2004 by Colin Dawson
Cricket Scotland will be running a three day course at Clydesdale CC, Titwood Pollokshields (next to Hutchesons Grammar School) on 3rd, 4th and 5th August this year from 10.30am to 3pm daily. The West District regretfully had to pull out of the event this year due to previous heavy costs and current financial restrictions.
Any youngster interested should either contact me at colindawson17@aol.com or Andy Tennant at andytennant@cricketscotland.com. The cost is £15 for the 3 days or £5 per day attending to be paid on the (first) day. Anyone aged between 10 and 17 can (and should) apply for this course. Age groups will be Under 13's and over 13's.
New Fixtures for U12 Leagues (Updated)
Posted on Friday 16th July 2004 by Colin Dawson
The league secretary has just advised me that the Under 12's have made it into the top league for the second half of this season! Other clubs in our group are Drumpellier, Ferguslie, Poloc, Prestwick and West of Scotland.
The fixtures start on Friday 23rd July with a home game against Poloc.
In the meantime Hari and I shall be concentrating on bowling techniques of the Under 12's with the hope of eliminating many of the wides and no balls that have littered the scoresheets to date. If we can achieve this we believe that the team can do reasonably well in the remaining matches.
