Players Meeting and Pre-season Get Together - Friday 23rd March 7:30pm
Posted on Wednesday 21st March 2007 by Fraser Murray
The start of the 2007 season is just a few weeks away. It seems important, therefore, that the playing members of the club get together to discuss out hopes and intentions for the forthcoming campaigns.
As anyone who has been to the Sunday net sessions will appreciate, there has been a remarkable influx of new talent to the club. This is extremely welcome, and a further indication of progress we are making collectively, but it also raises issues regarding selection and the structuring of teams this year.
So, in order to provide an opportunity to talk over these or any other issues, but also to give us a chance to catch up with old friends and get to know our new team-mates, a players' meeting is called for this Friday, at the clubhouse, from 7.30.
The agenda for the meeting, as it stands, is:
- Teams
- Training
- Fundraising
- Kit Orders
If you would like to add anything to this agenda please e-mail the club.
For those of you who have not been to New Anniesland before, a map and directions are available.
We'll be using the "top" bar - top-right of the pavilion in the picture below:

Enter by the door in the link area between the two parts of the pavilion, turn right, and head up the stairs.

Senior Practices - Sundays 18th and 25th March
Posted on by Fraser Murray
Due to the exceptional turn out at practices, it has become necessary to split the net sessions into two groups.
Group One - First and Second Team Squad Players
- 1045-1145: Indoor nets
- 1145-1245: Outdoor fielding practice
Group Two - Third and Fourth Team Squad Players plus those new to cricket
- 1045-1145: Skills session outdoor
- 1145-1245: Indoor nets
Please note that these divisions are merely a means of breaking the session into two manageable groups, and do not indicate decisions regarding selection for the forthcoming season.
To enable us to get a prompt start it would help if everyone could turn up at 1030.
As mentioned at the end yesterday, the hall costs money to rent so charges are set at:
- Seniors - £4 per session (maximum £25)
- Students - £2 per session (maximum £15)
- Juniors - £2 per session (maximum £10)
New and returning members get the first couple of sessions free of charge.
Please bring the correct cash, or a cheque payable to "GACC", for all of the sessions that you've attended this winter (the 25th will be the 9th session).
Easter Coaching Courses

The Glasgow Academy is again running coaching courses during the Easter holidays for any young and enthusiastic cricketer.
The courses will be organised and delivered by Hari and lasts for 4 days from Tuesday 10th-Friday 13th April 2007.
There are two different times for the courses, so hopefully there will be an opportunity for all those who want to attend to find a course at a suitable time.
Course 1
Tuesday 10th April - Friday 13th April 8.30am - 10.30am
Course 2
Tuesday 10th April - Friday 13th April 10.45am - 12.45pm
