Junior Cups
Posted on Friday 31st May 2019 by Colin Dawson
Much has happened before the monsoons arrived.
Congratulations to our U14's who repeated last Friday's league performance beating Ayr U14's again in the Scottish Cup on Tuesday. They now move on to the next round against West of Scotland being another home tie due to be played on Wednesday, 12 June … if the rains cease!
We are still waitng to arrange a suitable date for the U16 Scottish Cup tie against Clydesdale at Accies.
Unfortunately the rain put paid to last night's U13 ECB Vitality Cup against Grange in Edinburgh and this is now rescheduled for Thursday, 6 June at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh.
A reminder that the U15's play Carlton at Accies next Tuesday, 4 June in the U15 ECB Vitality Cup, again weather permitting.
Junior Cup updates
Posted on Thursday 23rd May 2019 by Colin Dawson
Our U15's are now due to play Carlton [Edinburgh] in the 2nd round of the ECB U15 Vitality Cup at New Anniesland on Tuesday, 4 June with a 6pm start.
As previously mentioned our U13's play Grange at Raeburn Place in Edinburgh in the U13 version on Thursday, 30 May, also at 6pm.
Our U14's are due to play Ayr at New Anniesland in the Scottish Cup on Tuesday, 28 May, also at 6pm. The U16 Scottish Cup match against Clydesdale at New Anniesland has yet to be arranged in the second half of June.
Update on juniors
Posted on Sunday 19th May 2019 by Colin Dawson
There is a lot of talent in the junior ranks at the moment and also a load of new young players interested in joining the Club. Registrations to play senior cricket are also on the increase but there are still a few who should be but have not yet done so.
All league age groups are performing well to date and, for the first time since the 80's, teams have been entered in the U16 and U14 Scottish Cup competitions as well as U15 and U13 teams in the ECB Vitality Cups.
Highlights to date - the U13's recently won their first round ECB match at home against Callander [Grange away in round 2 on Thursday, 30 May] and the U15's won their first round match this morning against a strong Poloc side - it's Carlton in the next round at home on a date yet to be arranged. The 14's beat Clydesdale II in the league at Titwood last Friday which greatly pleased both the team and the team manager.
It's busy times at the moment with the Scottish Cup matches yet to be arranged/played but confidence is high right now. More in due course.
