Season 2021 update

In light of recent announcements from Cricket Scotland and the WDCU regarding the return to cricket in Scotland, the Glasgow Accies Cricket Club Committee met last week (virtually) in order to discuss and confirm the club’s approach to the upcoming season

We are pleased to announce that we have received the go-ahead from the School to start using the ground for cricket activity from the 19th April.

In light of this, we will recommence Senior Training on Wednesday 21st April and this will take place every Wednesday evening from 6.30pm (weather permitting).

Junior Training will recommence on Sunday 25th April from 10.30am (weather permitting) and additional weekly evening training session may also be arranged based on demand.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, we will be unable to play any matches until at least the 26th April however the intention will be to arrange an Intra-Club Friendly on the weekend of 1st May and further details will be communicated nearer the time.

Depending on the guidance announced from the 26th April onwards we will then look to either arrange further Intra-Club Matches or Friendly Fixtures with local teams as we did last year until League Fixtures can start.

It is important to re-iterate that we will initially still be unable to use the clubhouse and changing room facilities so therefore members should arrive at the ground already changed and that travel to and from the ground should be by personal transport and either solo or within your household bubble.

Cricket Scotland and the WDCU are still confident that there will be a league season albeit with a delayed start date and further updates on this will be announced in due course.
