Fantasy Cricket 2010

Dear Members,

Did you feel you lacked motivation to graft out an innings when you were hungover and feeling lousy last year? To steam in for that last ball when you were tired? To really stretch for that catch? We on the fundraising committee know why, and we're here to help.

Fantasy cricket will return for 2010.

From the first week of fixtures in June, you will be able to pit your wits against your teammates in Accies' traditional summer fun- and fundraiser.

The cost will be £10 per team, which you can set up through your account on the website. You will be able to pick your team, but you will forfeit 5% of all the points your team earns before you pay. Your budget will be £11 (your tenner plus a bonus £1 from the fundraising committee to you) and players cost between 25p and £2 per week (Randy will actually play for a bacon roll and a mars bar, but that's not allowed within the rules of this competition). You will be allowed a limited number of substitutions to account for holidays and injuries.

Points will be awarded for all the good things you can do on the cricket pitch (score runs, take wickets or catches) and deducted for some of the bad (scoring a duck/getting pumped). The owner of the team with the highest score at the end of the year wins a fabulous prize.

Funds raised will go into the net fund - our ambitious project for the relocation of Accies nets, to provide top class new facilities for our members as well as bringing New Anniesland up to code for full ODI fixtures.

So go ahead and pick your team at: fundraising > fantasy cricket;

Or feel free to get in touch about donating to the nets fund.
