Our 1st XI suffered a chastening defeat at home to Kelburne, despite a great five wicket haul for Sheraz, on Saturday and simply must raise the level and get time in the middle.

There will be winnable games this season but only if we go in prepared and motivated. We don’t need to win every game but we must compete so we can remain in Prem 2.

Contrast this with the form of the 2nd XI who have now played two of their biggest rivals for promotion and won both well. Three wins from three.

Midweek sides followed the pattern. The 2nd XI won comfortably against Glenpark but the 1st XI got a proper spanking at Hillhead.

The Sunday Development XI played two T20s with Milngavie and it was a win a piece as we the two sides did a bit of exploratory work in advance of a big 2nd XI match up this coming Sunday

This week sees U16s get the league under way. A midweek match up with Helensburgh and then 1st XI at home to Drumpellier before the 2nd XI match the next day
