Exciting new sponsorship partnerships with Dallas McMillan and Ashoka Group

Glasgow Academical Cricket Club is proud to announce two new major sponsorship partners for the upcoming cricket season: Glasgow based law firm Dallas McMillan and the iconic Ashoka Group, one of Scotland’s most renowned Indian restaurant chains.

These partnerships mark a significant step forward for the club as it continues to grow both on and off the field. With a strong legacy in Scottish cricket, Glasgow Accies are delighted to join forces with two institutions that share a commitment to excellence, community engagement, and local heritage.

Dallas McMillan, a leading Glasgow-based law  firm who this year celebrates its 150th year anniversary, brings decades of experience in supporting businesses and individuals across Scotland. Their backing will help strengthen the club’s financial foundation and development initiatives.

The Ashoka Group, with its celebrated restaurants and deep cultural ties to Glasgow, is a welcome addition to the club's family. Known for its exceptional cuisine and hospitality, Ashoka's sponsorship reflects a shared commitment to bringing people together through community, sport, and tradition.

Dave Holloway Club Captain commented:

"As 1st XI captain I would like to welcome Ashoka as Glasgow Accies Cricket Club’s new sponsor joining our existing sponsor Dallas McMillan in supporting the club for the 2025 season and beyond.

As a club, we pride ourselves in our diverse and inclusive membership and welcoming nature and in particular we place a great emphasis on developing our juniors and you will regularly see a number of these playing in all of our senior sides.

Being one of the largest clubs in terms of membership and based in the heart of Glasgow, we are delighted to have two such prestigious sponsors in Ashoka and Dallas McMillan and we look forward to working together.

The generous support of these sponsors allows us to continue to provide the highest quality of facilities and coaching to our members and to develop the club in a sustainable way that should pave the way for a successful and prosperous future both on and off the field. “

Sanjay Majhu, Chairman Ashoka Restaurant Group said:

“We’re proud to sponsor the Glasgow Academical Cricket Club this season. With many of our chefs and staff having a long-standing passion for cricket — some even having played at club level themselves — it’s a partnership that feels like a natural fit. We’re excited to support a team that shares our love for teamwork, dedication, and community spirit.”

David McElroy, Dallas McMillan’s Managing Partner said:

“Everyone at the firm is delighted to be sponsoring Glasgow Accies Cricket Club. We have been working with the club for a few years now and we have all been hugely impressed by what the club offers the local community. The collaboration ties in nicely with our other partner clubs, Giffnock Soccer Centre and Wellmeadow Bowling Club in Paisley. It is an exciting time for everyone involved with the firm as we celebrate our 150th Anniversary as an independent practice providing a high-quality and personalised legal service to private clients and businesses alike and we look forward to sharing mutual success both on and off the pitch in 2025.

Broadcaster, former Scotland Rugby Internationalist and life long Accies man John Beattie also added:

“I am delighted to be invited to welcome the new sponsors to the cricket section of Glasgow Academical Sports Club. Connecting the school, club and community is so important and partnerships like these means everything.  I live near the ground and just last week we had 800 people to watch the Rugby section play the Barbarians. I have played guitar on stage with Sanjay who, when he is not running his business and dishing up great food is lead singer of Bhangra Beatles and whilst I haven't used Dallas McMillan yet I know many in the cricket and hockey sections that have with great results and I am sure I will too in future!”

The new sponsorships will be featured on player kits, signage, and at club events throughout the 2025 season.
