Match report

Hillednd won the Toss and decided to bat.

Despite the bad weather forecast we were optimistic that we might be able to get a game. Match was delayed and we reduced the overs to 80. As the game progressed Hillend made a good start their inning and were comfortable on on what was batting wicket.

A change of bowlers paid off, Ramesh made the first break through by bowling out one of their openers and Stuart replied by bowling a wicket maiden over. Ramesh than got batsman to edge to Phill Revie who held it nicely.

Stuart than bowled a beauty and got another wicket. Things than became slow for us as the Hillend batsmen kept their nerves and kept on picking loose balls to make runs. We got another break through when J Broddie of Hillend, after a great innings was dismissed attempting to play pull shot to Haydn and hit it straight into safe hands of skipper Farhaj. Skipper Farhaj decided to bowl himself towards the end of the innings and to every body's surprise managed to get three wickets with the help of excellent catches by Sajaad, Stuart and Ramesh.

As usual the Apls paid the price by dropping some easy and some difficult catches which might have had a real impact on the score. The leading Hillend batsmen were dropped at least 4 to 5 times and in my book that is sloppy guys.

After tea Alps settled to the task of scoring 170 to win the match. However, the weather changed immediately and started raining. As a result the match was abandoned after the third over.
