Match report

Superb match with drama, entertainment, banter and a very tense finale. After valiant defence for 7 overs and with the draw in sight the image of the ball looping off my bat and into the fielder's hands and the Alp's relieved celebrations will give this capt crippling cricket nightmares for the long winter nights ahead!

Great effort and good spirit by all players on both teams but special mention to Ben Mazzucco for a excellent and promising debut, and Naj Rawat's spectacular 36 in 8 balls which at one point looked like he was going overtake opener Waj's 55 in 125 balls. Well done also to Capt. Waj who kept his team going to the end.

My thanks to Colin Atkinson for his indefatigable umpiring.

Oh…and we played through the rain. Not like those pampered prima donnas on the other ground!
