Match report

The Sunday XI entertained a strong XL club side at a sun-kissed New Anniesland and emerged with a thrilling win in a see-sawing match.

XL club batted solidly with impetus provided by the stylish Aussie Polkinghorne who retired on 50 not out.

The wickets were shared around: two for Mike, one each for Rory, Ed, Bilal, and Ramsay.

Some great fielding all round, whilst a couple catches went down, there were great catches in deep by Firoze and Ed plus a fantastic catch at the stumps by skipper Jim.

An excellent fielding display with wides scoring only 7 with two expensive overs making it a par score.

Accies looked to be cruising with Mike hitting runs, Ed blocking, then Firoze hitting cleanly and often going large, until he holed out for 41 from 15 balls at a strike rate approaching 300!

Rishi took up the mantle but then an Accies wobble ensued with three wickets falling with the score on 122, Polkinghorne having been introduced to the attack.

However Bilal and Rory (22 not out) calmly saw us home with six overs to spare to complete a three win weekend.
