Scotindians v Glasgow Accies Midweek XI (10/06/08) scorecard

Well Well Well........

After the last horrendous defeat against the infamous scotindians, a number of accies boys were out for blood. This was thee perfect chance to attain this payback!

Raj started well and faced an onslaught of short bowling, luckily he got his helmet and walked out with his head still intact. But after a collision with the two batsmen raj by the looks of it torn his hamstring and had to retire hurt for the time being which allowed young debutee charlie mcnaught to show of his skills in front of his old man.Stuart young kept the fire burning and got to 29 in no time with some classic cover drives.Like raj Charlie started really well and got the runs ticking but was decieved by a staight ball and swung across the line which got him bowled.which gave Bonnigton his chance to shine.Raj eventually managed to get some blood flowing through those legs and with the help of a runner came back to punish the bowling attack,after stuart who got caught at covers after mistiming a shot and tom who missed the slower deliverly got bowled.Raj managaged to get yet another 50.A mention to young master sutton who supported Raj really well and proved he can stick around by making a healthy 7 runs( maybe a number 9 now lol joking of course). Accies managed to put on 112 after 20 overs a good total but the work was far from done.

It was time for glasgow accies to bowl and overall the did very well.Skipper waj looked to Scott Young and Habib Malik to take the attack to the hard hitting scotindians.Both opening bowlers started well and kept the "openers" at bay.Young Scott struck gold third ball by bowling one of the openers round his legs.Young habib then struck first ball of his over with what looked to be a juicy half volley but ironically got the other opener to chip it to waj at long off.Habib was unfortunate not to get another wicket in of his third ball as there was a clear thick edge which was denied by their umpire. But Scotindians despite of the mini collapse managed to race to 50 runs after 6 overs. (Some misfields led to this speedy total)Skipper waj had to rotate the bowling as not letting the batsmen settle in to much so looked to Stuart young who bowled well on a wicket that suited him just nicely and was well supported by Phile Revie behind the stumps who took one of the greatest catches i have seen in quite some time.Nirvik on the other end bowled really well and kept everything real tight not giving away anything to the batsman.

It became apparant that the scotindians were well on course of winning the game as needing 15 runs of 6overs with 5 wickets still intact and were looking ever so comfortable with the pace that was getting bowled at them. Skipper decided to take a gamble and take the pace of the ball by bringing on the spinners and without hesitation looked straight to the ever so reliable Mr.Gleed with his flighted deliveries. Haydn struck in his first over with a flighted delivery that was actually given via....... wait for it ......LBW. This itself is a victory, must be the first time in the history of scotindians playing cricket to give an LBW,This alone is an achievement. Skipper Waj bowled one over from the other end and took a wicket first ball as the batsmen mistimed the shot and hit it straight to the safe hands of stuart young who was out in the deep,Skipper was denied a LBW shout with his third bowl which would of been hitting middle stump but regardless got his man forth ball which would of been hitting off stump his figures being 2-2. Bit of moisture would of helped him HAHA but he bowled superbly. But it was hadyn who got the last laugh and struck the final knock out punches and got the final 2 batsmen with yet two more beauties one that was skied and was swallowed by keeper phil and his last victim dragging the bowl on his stumps. It was celebration time........... Glasgow Accies beat scotindians by 5 runs YOU KNOW TEAPOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

Magnificent victory well done lads,well proud of the team,lets keep this momentum going and win this Cup.
