Match report

Did you listen to the All Blacks versus England matches? This was something similar in that the lads were well beaten by a much superior team in all departments but yet there is talent that can be worked on.

The main differences between the teams were that Accies' top score was 3 whilst 4 Prestwick batsmen scored double figures; 11 Accies wickets fell whilst Prestwick only lost 2 and Accies gave away 53 runs in wides whilst Prestwick only conceded 34 [remember that wides count 2 at this age group].

Cameron Russell now has an average for the first time this season. Forbes, C Russell and debutant Mackenzie Cox showed most promise with the ball but the Prestwick batsmen played sensibly with a straight bat denying any major wicket taking opportunities.

In the second half of the season the lads have to learn to use a straight bat, bowl straight at the stumps and to be more alert in the field. I'm sure they will rise to the challenge.
