Match report

First match of the season with a brand new and young U11 team including two U8's in Ross McAllister and Lewis Oliver both of whom acquitted themselves well - baltic conditions but that did not dampen the customary energy and enthusiasm shown by the Mini-Mites.  Although losing by the small margin of 3 runs our lads put up a good show and were in danger of winning the match right up to the last over when the "best" bowler is usually nominated for the task because wides and no balls count as additional balls for the only time in each innings.

Unfortunately young Drew Cameron chose this over to bowl all of his four wide balls.  Having said that he was the only bowler to be credited with a wicket and up till the last over he was very economical - as usual.  There is a lot of pressure in bowling the last over in a tight match and ordinarily he would have been the right choice.

The future is looking bright!
