Match report

A new experience for all but three of the team i.e. playing hard ball cricket.  The result was in doubt until the final ball when a solitary wicket would have seen an Accies' win.  As it was the lads lost by one run.

The boys' enthusiasm was great to watch, ground fielding was excellent considering and the bowling was generally of good quality from such a young side.  Length was pretty good and the only thing lacking was more straight balls on the stumps.

The batting will improve as will also the bowling as the season progresses - just the usual problem in judging runs especially when hit to two of the best fielders of the opposing side.

Overall a decent first outing for the team and made so much more pleasant in ambient temperature…for a change.
