Match report

Another very good performance from the young Accies side produced a convincing 94 run victory over a spirited Weirs/East Kilbride select. Accies restricted the visitors to 46 for 8 from their 20 overs with some tight and accurate bowling. Shaik produced a career best of 4 for 4 off his 3 overs, top quality bowling. There were also wickets for Shabbir, Gardee, Iqbal, and Paterson. Such was the all round quality of bowling, Accies captain Paterson was able to give all of the team a minimum of 2 overs each. In Accies attempt to produce run outs, 11 overthrows were added to the Weirs total. Let’s remember to back up and think before we shy at the stumps. Once again Accies started off carelessly by swinging and missing the straight ones but an unbeaten partnership of 55 between Maheshwari and Safi provided impetus to the Accies innings. Maheshwari scored an unbeaten 19 and Safi produced a career best 24 not out. Paterson’s unbeaten 34 ensured a comfortable victory. Next week we entertain East Renfrewshire at New Anniesland which will be a tough encounter. Well done again to the team. Keep practicing and enjoying your cricket. It really is a huge pleasure to be part of such a close knit team.
