Match report

Another beautiful sunny evening for cricket and another victory for the young Accies side. Both teams came into the match unbeaten so far this season and it was to be Accies who kept their unbeaten record in tact. Losing the toss and batting first, Accies lost a number of early wickets, however a stand of 48 between the hugely impressive Maheshwari (25 not out) and Fahd (10) steadied the ship and set up the platform for some big hitting from Iqbal (14) and Paterson (44 not out) to post a highly competitive total.

In reply, East Renfrewshire lost 2 early wickets to the impressive Gardee and with Shabir bowling his excellent line and length at the other end the hosts found it difficult to score. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Paterson taking 5 wickets for 7 runs from his 4 overs and there was also wickets for Shiek, Fahd and debutant Anwar who impressed in his first match. Gardee (2 for 13) constantly troubled the batsmen with her accuracy and was unlucky not to add to her 2 wicket haul. What was really impressive was the very few wides and no balls that the Accies gave away, and such was the quality from all bowlers on show the captain gave all bowlers at least 2 overs each.

Next week we are away to West. Keep practicing and enjoying your cricket.
