Match report

After comprehensively winning our league the young Accies side narrowly lost to a very strong Ferguslie side in the second semi final on “Finals Day”. This was no disgrace as Ferguslie had finished runners up in the Scottish Cup only a few weeks previously. Losing the toss we were asked to bowl first and every Accies bowler showcased their talent to the large crowd that had assembled. Wickets were shared amongst the team however Anwar (3 for 24), Gupta (3 for 32) and Gardee (2 for 9) stood out. We struggled to get going against a very strong Ferguslie bowling attack losing wickets at key moments. Shaik hit a composed and pleasing on the eye 12 not out, very sensibly selecting the right balls to hit. Paterson top scored with 34 however, despite their efforts it was not quite enough to get the team over the line. It has been a real pleasure to take this team this year. I have loved the camaraderie and encouragement every player has shown. 7 of the players, Rory, Fatima, Ritvik, Humza, Akshat, Haris and Zain will be moving on to under 14s next year where the format is sure to suit our skills even more. We leave the under 12s in the more than capable hands of Mikaeel , Zak, Nasruatullah, Mustafa, Shaan and Abhi who have all excelled in the team this year. Well done
