Match report

The car park at New Anniesland was bathed in warm sunshine whilt the car park in Coatbridge was lay at the edge of an ominous black cloud. Accies won the toss and elected to bat.

Immediately they lost two wickets [Andrew Allen and Euan Dowers] and the black cloud enveloped the ground. An annoying rain began to fall but the batting of Neil Cuthill and Chris Allen brightened Accies' spirits as they put on 64 for the 3rd wicket.

Neil fell 1 short of retiral [29] whilst Chris made 24 before he also fell. A breezy end to the innings was effected by Chris Coutts and Suhaib Siddiqui with a final total of 98 for 5.

The Drumps skipper, Perman, played on from his pads from a Siddiqui special and Keshav knocked over Asif's woodwork before the Sabri brothers brought them back into the game with some big hitting.

However the older brother who looked as though he could win the match off his own bat had to retire under the rule at 30. When Dhruv Satpute bowled the younger Sabri and then Pyne with his next ball the Drumps innings fell below the required rate, finishing 21 runs short of the target.

The Accies' lads were full of enthusiasm and no lack of ability on the night both with the bat and in the field. An excellent performance by a team that worked as a team. Let's have some more of this lads.
