Match report

Amazingly the weather held although Hillhead could only muster 7 players including two complete beginners as against Accies' 11.  Having given Hillhead 3 fielding subs the five top flight Hillhead boys bowled tightly ensuring that any scoring opportunities were limited.  A patient innings of 18 not out from Ruairidh Russell cemented the innings after a promising but brief innings from Armaan Khan.  Uwais Mohsan had already fallen victim to shaking hands with the square leg umpire whilst facing a straight ball.  Thomas Aston looked good in partnership with Russell ensuring that a reasonable strike rate was kept going but fell a further victim caught behind.  That effectively ended Accies' batting and 62 was not going to be enough against 5 proven Hillhead batsmen unless Accies' bowling was tight.

Unfortunately it was not and considerable work has to be done on line and length by everyone including the "front line" attack.  With 26 wides contributed to the Hillhead cause the opposition cruised to a 9 wicket victory in a mere ten overs.
