Match report

Some last minute team changes allowed Mikal Rahim to play yet another "final" match before his departure to Pakistan - his presence both on and off the field will be sorely missed by his fellow players.

Put in to bat Accies started well but then a rash of stumpings [six in all] by the Hillhead keeper saw the lads in deep trouble. Although scoring runs they continued to lose wickets, mainly bowled, whilst John Oliver kept his cool for 17 not out.  A final tally of 95 for 12 gave a net score of 35.

The Accie bowlers and fielders were all pretty decent apart from a slight glitch when an easy single was turned into an all-run four. No less than seven of the Accie bowlers took wickets. With Hillhead requiring only 7 runs to win in the last over Rahim bowled a peach of an over [his last for Accies!] and the pressure resulted in a run out which sealed victory - 72 for 9 giving a net score of 27.

The team was led very well by Fraser Gordon who pouched the only successful catch of the innings.
