Match report

A young team with six U13's and five U11's faced the might of Ayr on a sultry evening.  Remarkably a record low was set by the young Accies' bowlers with only four wides at 2 runs apiece with the first of them only after nine overs of play.  Unfortunately the Ayr batsmen were in good nick with Davidson, Lynch and Bhandari all retiring with fifteen boundaries between them.  A brilliant direct hit run out by Fraser McAllister and a top notch high catch by Andrew Robinson on debut were the Accies' fielding highlights.  In spite of these notables a large total of 141 was achieved by Ayr and this was always going to prove difficult for the Accies' youngsters.

A disastrous start to Accies' innings saw them quickly descend to 5 runs for four wickets and only Rick Mukhophadyay [16] offered any resistance to an Ayr bowling onslaught. In total there were eight "ducks" including three run outs with Cameron Rome [1] the only other batsman to get on the scoresheet.

The U11's had performed creditably both with the ball and in the field which augurs well for next season when they move up to this age group.
