Match report

A game that featured a number of key milestones – 135 run opening partnership, John batting through the 20 overs and Arman getting his highest score and best bowling figures for the Club.  However, the win remained dependent upon the whole team contributing in the field as Ayr fought back strongly.  All the bowlers did well and with the exception of John and Arman (14 wide’s between them but otherwise they bowled well and got key wickets) the wide count was minimal.  A superb wicket keeping performance from Ruairidh Keeley was crucial in taking a great catch and limiting the extras.   Great first contributions from Jamie and Rick just up from the 13’s.

However the highlight of the match was the 135 partnership between John and Arman.  Adapting to the conditions superb placing of the ball and aggressive running meant that on an early season outfield the single runs ticked over and bad balls were almost all hit for boundaries including a couple of huge 6’s from Arman.
