Match report

The best win of the season so far for a young U18s side growing in confidence.

Stand-in skipper Scott Young won the toss and inserted Ferguslie on an old pitch. He led from the front with both bat and ball to see the side home. Euan Crawford bowled a fantastic opening double-wicket maiden at the other end to set the tone for Accies' performance in the rest of the game.

The spinners Dick and Sutton shared 7 wickets and Phil Revie looked more confident than ever before behind the sticks as Ferguslie were restricted to 76.

The chase got off to the worst possible start as Tom Bon. slapped the third ball of the innings low to short cover who took a sharp reflex catch. Charlie McNaught played his usual dominant cameo before missing an inswinger with most of the work still to do. Credit to Scott and Graham who didn't panic as dot balls mounted - Graham took 25 balls to get off the mark and Scott faced 27 balls for his first five runs. Patience paid dividends, though,as they went after the change bowlers to end the match with time to spare. Congratulations, U18s!
