Our 1st XI unfortunately shelled a couple of important catches offered by the pro from a strong Drumpellier side; going down at home in a deserved defeat but one which could have been closer. Good to see much more application in the middle with the bat. Corner turned as we grow into the season.
Our 2nd XI squeaked home in a nail biter vs Milngavie. A great effort from Rory Patterson scoring 63* with bat and some great death bowling and Anandu Sivan with bat and ball.
Kapil demonstrated he can field as well as he bowl and bats with two important catches and a run out.
They remain unbeaten having played all the top sides in the division already.
Our Dev XI were defeated by Kelburne XI. Mustapha Fahd scoring a great 50. Father and son Naweed and Waleed on debut too showing up well.
Our MW 2nd XI lost a really close one to Helensburgh a missed run out proving crucial.
The U16s game was won by walkover and they start in earnest tonight at Hillhead/West - come and watch if you can, play starts at 17:30.
The U14s are progressing really well in their league winning three of four. In their most recent match saw them defeat Hills/West coach Fahd had this to say:
“150-7 with good batting from Sebby, Jatin, Alex, Hugh and Oscar.
The bowlers gave a lot of extras but managed to use the uneven bounce in the wicket to restrict WOS/Hillhead to 78 all out in 11 overs.
Archie G, Alex, Shaurya, Aditya and Oscar bowled at good line and wickets shared by all with good keeping by Sebby including an excellent run out and Robbie was good in the field.
Shaurya took a difficult catch.
Catches win matches."
The U12s combined with West hard ball side also going well.
