Match report

Glasgow Accies were only able to complete half their match against East Kilbride at Torrance House on Saturday.

Accies won the toss and Andy surprisingly chose to bat in muggy, overcast conditions. Ed and Randy persevered well in trying conditions early on as the bowlers made the ball dance off the seam.

After seeing off the opening bowlers, Randy fell for 28 when the score was on 46. 3 further wickets fell in the quick succession, for the addition of only 15 more runs. From 61 for 4 Euan and Andy initially stuck to their task well by adding 54 for the 5th wicket.

Disappointingly, they were both out in similar, lazy fashion to catches at mid-off around the 30 yard circle. In hind-sight, further consolidation would have been the better option rather than trying to go over the top.

Valuable contributions were then made by Roddy (15) and Abhay (10*) toward the end of the innings, before Kash flailed the last ball of the innings for 3 to push Accies total to 152 for 8 from their allotted overs.

As the tea interval started heavy clouds from the South West opened and brought a deluge of rain over the ground. The game was abandoned after the East Kilbride captain, Ally Dalgeish, finally conceded that no further play would be possible.
