Match report

Rowan Cup 2008

Accies won the toss and decided to bat. In recovering from 17 for 3; Roddy, Raj, Sree and Fritzy, who top scored with 28*, all made useful contributions to pushed the score along to 100 for 8 for their allocated 20 overs.

The Poloc reply started in a similar manor as Accies rocked them to 37 for 4 in the 11th over. Again they re-grouped and required 11 runs off the final over. A lusty blow off the third last ball to cow corner for 4 and a streaky leg bye boundary the following ball saw them over the winning line and limp past the 2006 finalists into the second round.

It was a great effort from the whole team who ended up ruing missed opportunities. Accies will learn from the experience of this close game and take momentum into their clash at Hillhead on Saturday.
