Match report

Glenpark travelled to Anniesland for the second time in four days in hope of getting one back for Saturday.  Anniesland fielded a team that looked different from Saturday but just as strong.

QQ won the toss and elected to bowl first much to the disgust of Ritvik, Ramsay, Akshat and Ekaansh.

Rehan opened the bowling with Akshat at the other end and got hit about for the first two overs.

They soon got their line and length and the flow of runs stemmed. Anniesland got their reward in the 5th over as Rehan removed Ewan Stewart with a lethal yorker that hit him right in front and then cleaned up H Safi a couple of balls later.

Tight bowling from Accies and attacking fields then put pressure on the other end and attempted to starve opener Lukas Fischer-Keogh of the strike.

As dot balls built pressure on the other end the batsman started to make mistakes but Anniesland failed to capitalise as they dropped him twice and missed two easy run out opportunities.

Eventually, he was dismissed by Sushant lbw for 58 and Greenock ended their 20 overs on 106-6 with the wickets shared between Rehan (2-21), Sushant (2-10) Kapil (1-19), and Dilawar (1-6).

In response Anniesland got off to a flyer with Ritvik and Ramsay running hard and batting aggressively whilst using proper cricket shots.

They never looked in trouble and had the rate in control from the first over.

Ramsay did the bulk of the early scoring as he flicked, drove, and pulled his way to 45, never looking troubled before he was caught trying to go over mid-on once again in the 15th over.

Ritvik stuck in and used his feet effectively as he got down the track to the bowlers and took them on towards the end, getting to his fifty with a flick to deep square.

Overall, a dominant performance from Anniesland that could have been by an even bigger margin had they been better in the field, winning by eight wickets with 14 balls remaining.

Player of the Match: Ramsay
Champagne moment: Rehan's two wickets in the 5th or Ritvik getting to his 50 with 1 run left to get to win.
