Match report

First midweek game of the season, sunny but windy. Vey good start from both openers specially new avatar for Dave who was striking hard from the word go. Middle order collapsed & couldn't build on the start we got but thanks to Afridi & M.Usman who showed some good cricket shots & at last brilliant running between wickets from Rao & Safi who managed to get a decent score for the team.

St.Ninians started chase at 6 runs per over before Jolly opened the gates for us but they were 76/3 after 10 overs needing 48 in 60 balls. Introduction of Afridi in the bowling works as he delivered the only maiden over of the match & also took 2 wickets in his last over which left an equation of 19 runs needed from 18 balls with 2 wickets in hand. Ronnie took the ball in his hand to bowl 19th over with 12 needed from 12 balls & straight away took a wicket on his first ball, now Accies looked comfortably home with only 1 wicket needed but then a sequence of wides & a no ball (rare) from Ronnie left St.Ninians need 1 run from 6 balls which they have scored easily.

Positives: Ground fielding from whole team specially Jolly, Gautam, M.Usman & Rao. Brillint catching from Jolly & Gautam.

Need to work: Running between wickets, calling, line & length.

Note: Bails & balls struggle over the match to keep their places as 26 & 27 wides were bowled by St.Ninians & Accies respectively.

Hope we do well in the next game.

                                            Ronnie
