Match report

The Jekyll and Hyde form of the Accies lads continued tonight at Hillhead. The batting began to fall apart from the very first ball of the Accies' innings eventually losing a total of 11 wickets and only scoring 22 runs from the bat. This was partly due to some accurate bowling by the Hillhead youngsters and partly due to inability to make contact with the ball. Cameron Russell has yet to lose his wicket for this team!

On the plus side the lads' bowling produced a mere 11 wides during the entire Hillhead innings and that must be a record low for any U11 team! Ross Curran has a very correct and fluent bowling action that produced lovely away swing. He picked up three wickets whilst Mark Forbes was probably the steadiest of the bowlers. Having said that everyone contributed. Thomas Aston took a nice catch behind the stumps in a new role for him.

With a little more alertness in the field the lads could have taken another couple of catches but this will come.

West of Scotland away next week - I think a win must be on the cards this time?
