Match report

After the match Stewart Taylor admitted that this was the strongest 'Dale U11 side - unfortunately it was not the strongest Accies' team due to School Prom!  On the pitch it showed.  It was a glorious summer's evening and the 'Dale youngsters showed what an all-round team they were.  All batsmen wreaked havoc on our bowlers and the fielders were run ragged collecting the ball from the other side of the boundary which by U11 standards was probably the biggest this season.  Every 'Dale batsman bar one scored double figures and set a rather impressive net score of 158 to win by Accies.  Three Accies fielding highlights were two impressive catches by Mikal Rahim and the almost inevitable direct hit run out by Ruairidh Russell.

The only batsman in the Accie innings to make double figures was that man Rahim who looks as though he could be a player for the future.  Other than that there was little firepower in reply not helped by losing two wickets in the first over of the innings and, believe it or not, four wickets in the final over of the innings!  How do we stop the leather crashing the ash?  That may take some time to answer.

Having said all that there is latent talent about - it just needs to become "not latent".
