Match report

Sensational is the only way to describe this match!  Batting first Accies made a very commendable score of 96 for only 6 wickets down i.e. a net 66.  In normal circumastances this should have been a very adequate total.  The two Cameron brothers again produced wicketless innings with Drew top scoring with 15.  Rick Mukhophadyay showed that he can bat scoring a decent 12 runs but threw away his wicket costing him and the team 5 runs!  Anyhow a much improved batting display from last week.

In reply whilst the Accies' lads bowling was tight Uddingston were well ahead of the game after 12 overs sitting on a net 55 runs [only needing a further 12 barring disasters!] with decent pairings to come.  If there was a storm at Accies' ground putting paid to the U15 match v Poloc that storm made its way to Uddingston in the format of Drew Cameron and Jamie Percival.

Drew was the first to gain an invitation to the end of season Awards night with a hat trick and then adding a fourth successive wicket with the first ball of his next over!  Enter Jamie - the first three balls of his next over earned him his invitation to the Awards night and, not to be outdone by Drew, he also took a fourth successive wicket with his next ball.

Rick Mukhophadyay chipped in with a couple of wickets as did young Euan Cameron and Uddingston had folded from a winning position to complete disarray losing by over 40 runs in the space of 8 overs.  It just shows how unpredictable cricket can be.

Considering that five of our team are still Under 9's there is much hope for the future here.  The only slight concern is a tendency to try stopping the ball with one's feet - not a good idea!     Roll on next week!
