Match report

On a cold, overcast evening our very young Accies team were put into field after losing the toss. Matters were not helped prior to the start of play, when we lost our captain Brendan Clark to a late illness. Admirably, Fraser McAllister took up the mantle and stewarded the team in his debut as captain.

The Wests boys were also young and experienced and the match was in the balance right up to the end. Unfortunately we ended up on the wrong side of the result, and this can be attributed to the high number of wides we had bowled in our innings. Cut out the wides and we will win these games!

Notable events, were Frasers cat-like prowess in the field and 3 direct hits on the stumps leading to run outs. Also on debut, Lucas Pierotti had a spirited knock, smashing a couple of great fours, narrowly missing out on a six. Another debutant Finn Herbert kept wicket for us, and showed a lot of poise and maturity behind the stumps .

A special thank you to the injured Hamza Gardee who filled in as scorer for us. This is a valuable skill to learn and is a real art. Hopefully Mr Dawson will run one of his scoring classes again, and it would be well worth attending.
