Match report

Some sage pre-match advice from coach Jameel Gardee saw the number of daft run outs reduced to only two this week. For once we were not frozen to death and it was a gripping finale with scores tied at the end of the penultimate over.

All skipper Clark and young Ross Mcallister had to do was score at least one run and not lose a wicket in the final over.  Ross Mcallister was on strike but he held his nerve and the first ball went for two runs - great jubilation from the remainder of the team forgetting that there were still 5 legal balls to survive without losing that precious wicket. He rose to the challenge and blocked all that came his way and a couple of wide deliveries ensured the win for Accies.

Duncan Kilpatrick and Fraser McDonald had seen the team off to a great start with 23 without loss from their partnership. Oliver and Dalton continued the good work but then suffered a double wicket loss in one over. The remaining batsmen chipped in towards the overall total.

In the field debutants Dalton and Houghton performed well with Houghton securing a run out and Dalton was always alert and has a strong throw.  Overall this was a much stronger performance all round after last week's defeat.  If the lads can just cut out the wides and no balls.
