Match report

If the opposition gives us 18 wides and we give them 31 the equation will never be equal.  That 31 out of Helensburgh's 53 for 4 was crucial in the end. Accies scored twice as many runs off the bat but lost twice as many wickets [8] in the process - both aberrations being costly.

We must learn to spot and defend straight balls rather than having a heave with a cross bat shot.  Having said that the match was yet another close final over one in which the result could have gone either way.  Needing 4 to tie off the last ball was just too much sadly and the first loss of the season was recorded.

Harrison Wilson had a good run out. Lewis Oliver stood in for absent Finn Herbert as wicketkeeper and looked useful. He also looked good with the bat until he had a couple of costly "heaves". Ethan Duncanson-Ward again bowled and batted steadily..again.

Thanks to all the parents that helped out with transport, to Mr Parbrook for the prawn sandwich and to Jameel Gardee for umpiring the second innings allowing me to be eaten by the midges.
