Match report

On a pleasant spring evening on a good pitch for some reason the bowling wheels fell off! 10 wides v Renfrew, 18 v West and tonight 27 v Ferguslie.  Otherwise the bowling was pretty good restricting the opposition to a mere 18 from the bat but only three wickets. Some wild throws to the keeper resulted in missed chances of run outs with batsmen halfway down the track counteracted by a sharp stumping by Finn Herbert.  A net score of 31 to win required.

A decent start from Irfan and Mohammed put on 15 for the first pairing but then wickets began to tumble mostly due to daft run out calls.  Herbert and Chadha pulled the game back to within reach.

It all came down to the final pairing, a mad run out and the final over. Needing 11 to win Zahid hits a boundary.  Conveniently the bowler bowls a couple of wides and Tyagi hits a boundary.  10 off the final over to tie the match!  Huge excitement from all 20 players, parents and onlookers.

This is what U11 cricket is all about…..but we must get rid of those wides and horrendous run outs!
