Match report

This was a game that the Accies lads might have won, indeed should have won, but lost by a single run! Two instances of madness probably cost them the match. With an Uddy batsman half way down the pitch a fielder did not remove the bails and a run was completed - a six run swing and, on the last ball of the match, an overthrow allowed two runs to be scored when needed to win - a daft throw and no one to back up at the bowler's end.

Having said that there were some positives to be taken. Last week we lost a massive fifteen wickets whilst this week, although still not being able to score runs with the bat, we only lost two wickets and gave the lads a reasonable chance with a net plus score of 31.  On the bowling front, wides are still a real problem but the five wickets taken were shared between Gardee, Shaik, Iqbal, Harris Johnston and Aston.

In the first match between these two teams Accies were soundly beaten by 68 runs so a 1 run defeat is a distinct improvement if somehat frustrating in the circumstances

It is Ferguslie at home next Friday and the lads will have to be on top of their game for this one.  Regular skipper Rory Paterson and Karan Shah should be back for this one.
