Match report

A glorious warm summer's evening saw the arrival of a very strong Ferguslie side at New Anniesland. Paterson [R] won the toss and elected to field.

The Feegie first pair of Ahmed and Glassford put on 59 without loss and this proved decisive in the context of the game.  What had normally been tight bowling in earlier matches against lesser opponents fell apart especially when Ahmad was facing.  Frequently he used his feet advancing down the pitch and hitting bowlers straight back to the long boundaries.  Zak Iqbal took a couple of wickets in his first over to give a brief glimmer of hope with one each for Gardee and Paterson [R]. A final tally of 107 for 4 [net 87] was a daunting score to beat.

Accies reply stuttered badly right from the start and proceeded to go downhill with regular daft run outs and clattering of stumps. The lads only managed 13 runs off the bat helped by 20 extras to end on 33 but for the dramatic loss of 15 wickets. Accies final tally was -42 and losing by 129 runs.  What a change from previous matches.

The Feegie bowlers simply bowled full and straight and waiting for the batsmen to miss.

A lot to learn yet but there's still most of the season to work on getting better.
